Good morning. Please see the attached letter and registration link for the PSATs to be administered on Saturday October 18th, 2025. We utilize Total Registration for online registration and payment. Garden City High School sophomores and juniors are eligible to take the PSAT exam this year. The PSAT is a test designed for juniors, as a pre-test to the SATs. Although we allow sophomores to take the PSAT, it is not always advisable. The National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test program is only for juniors. Please see your counselor with any specific questions about testing. 

The online exam registration is now open and will end on Monday, October 6th at 3:00pm. Please make sure to register and pay during the registration window.

Registration is closed for the PSAT (window ran from September 9th to October 6th, with a reminder sent October 1st). If you missed the deadline and still wish to take a practice exam, the following are options:
1. take a digital practice test through Bluebook, Collegeboard's official digital practice SAT platform (already loaded on Chromebooks). This experience can provide a realistic, untimed or timed practice without paying or registering.
2. register for an SAT exam through Collegeboard to experience a real testing environment and understand the actual pacing, question style, and scoring. You do not need to send these scores to any college. If you don't send these scores, they won't appear anywhere.
3. take a practice exam through a private tutoring company such as Curvebreakers (if interested).

ARRIVE BY 7:45 A.M. ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18th. UPON ARRIVAL, PLEASE REPORT TO THE MERILLON AVENUE BUS CIRCLE ENTRANCE AND PROCEED TO THE CAFETERIA HALLWAY FOR YOUR ROOM ASSIGNMENT.

BRING:
• Your fully charged school device. You must have the Bluebook app installed and exam setup complete before test day. Your device should be able to hold a charge for 3-4 hours. Please bring your username and password sheet distributed at the Digital Readiness Check.
• An approved calculator. There’s a graphing calculator built into the app, but you can bring your own if you like.
• An external mouse if you use one.
• Photo ID
• Two #2 sharpened pencils

Acceptable Calculators
Students should be familiar with the operation of their calculators and know when the calculator can be used effectively. All questions on the Math Test – Calculator can be solved without a calculator; however, using a calculator on some questions may be helpful to students. On the Math Test – Calculator portion, all scientific calculators are permitted. A four-function calculator is acceptable but not recommended.
