School Year Information for Garden City High School
August 2026
The time has come; welcome to the new school year!
Garden City High School is ready to start classes on Tuesday, September 1st. You will notice the ongoing construction of the new fitness center near the track and fields, but that should not have any impact on our learning inside. We have some new classroom spaces in Science, Art and Business that are modern and fresh.
This year, the cell phone policy we started last year is still in place. Student use of cell phones is restricted during the school day, from bell (7:40am) to bell (2:43pm). While there are specific exceptions, students should have their devices off and away throughout the day. Staff will instruct students to put any devices away if they are being used without permission, including in the hallways and cafeteria. If students and families need to communicate during the day, students may come to the Main Office, Attendance Office, or Guidance Counseling Center for assistance.

We look forward to welcoming our incoming students at Freshman Orientation and BBQ on Monday, August 31st, and the rest of our students on Tuesday!
